Pre-Bond Static Discharge

Static electricity attracts airborne dust. A film handler with static buildup on clothing or skin will pull dust onto the adhesive face within seconds.

Quality installations use anti-static mats, grounded installer wristbands and controlled environment. Some workshops also humidify the bay slightly above static-buildup thresholds.

For most installs, basic precautions — cotton clothing, regular hand washing, humidified bay — eliminate the static problem. For premium clear-IR windscreen film, the additional care matters because contamination is so visible.
